Great listen as well. Similar to KD, I had felt either 2023 Aus or 2024 Eng would be where this streak may get broken but somehow India survived both only to lose here, NZ played great cricket and had amazing result for them. Indian team is on the decline with age and all. Last podcast the discussion was around how batting is irrelevant and I still agree with it, I feel batting lost India this game, they got 20 wickets for 500 runs and no matter what kind of pitch you expect them to get 500 runs especially when they were batting till 9. I had this feeling about this test, there were minor feelings, like usually when India bats second on a touch pitch, the match goes like where India somehow finds a way to match or be close to the first inning score, and then put the opposition down in third innings, I have seen many test matches like that, Delhi 2013, 2023, Ranchi 2024, Kanpur 2008 etc, but this time when India were 16 for 1 after 11 overs, I felt like they were not in rhythm or were little more pressured than usual by the thought of losing, usually they are about 40-50 since opposition tries to attack and they capitalise. That is when I felt like things were not going in their favour. Anyway, what a great streak, really something to be cherished.
Great pod as ever. Have tried to deconstruct what happened with Santner’s bowling –

Santner turned the ball less outside the off stump and that led to him getting rewarded more for false shots.
